Description:
Yuna is the main character of the series. She can let herself be distracted by trivial details and not fully appreciate the situations she finds herself into, but she is also a very charismatic and compassionate individual. Her real strength lies in understanding the emotional foundations of other people. She has a harder time relating to mechanical constructs, though, and her foils in the series are usually robots and androids, though this is becoming less and less true as time goes on. In particular, she has a very human relationship with the android Ayako.
Yuna's oldest
companion in the series is the faerie-like robot Yerna, who serves as an instructor and guide and sometimes as a leash on Yuna's wilder ideas. Yerna is the link through which Yuna can use the powers of her Lightsuit and of the Yel-Line. Yuri Cube is Yuna's best friend and an android. Yuri's particular habits have an easy time of getting under Yuna's skin. In fact, the only individual who seems to be able to annoy Yuna more at times is Mai, her ultra-rich and very chic teacher. Yuna's idol, heroine, and the love of her life is the TV character Masked Fraulein Polylina. Yuna has repeatedly stated her desire to bear Polylina's child. Her relationship with former arch-enemy Lia, who plays Polylina, is a little more unclear, and is complicated by the fact that Lia seems to play Polylina in real life as often as she does on television.
Voice:
Yokoyama Chisa (Sakura of Sakura Taisen, Sasami of Tenchi Muyou and Pretty Sammy, Ryoko of Mobile Batlleship Nadesico, and many other roles)
